Chevron to develop shale wells in Argentina
San Ramon-based Chevron has struck a deal with YPF, the Argentina-owned oil producer, to develop shale wells in the South American nation's Vaca Muerta shale formation.
The two energy producers will develop oil and natural gas wells in Argentina.
Chevron and YPF also agreed to study the recovery of oil from aging wells through new technologies.
TriNet buys outsourcing firm
San Leandro-based TriNet, which provides on-demand human resources services through the Web, has a definitive agreement to buy Strategic Outsourcing from Clarion Capital Partners.
TriNet's acquisition of Strategic Outsourcing will enable it to offer professional employment services to fit the needs of entrepreneurs and small businesses nationwide.
The deal also enables TriNet to broaden its geographic reach.
TriNet has been in an acquisition mode lately. The human resources firm earlier this year bought AccordHR.
Zendesk lands $60M in new VC funding
San Francisco-based Zendesk, a customer service software maker, has raised $60 million in new venture capital funding.
Zendesk also presented a brand-new version of its interface and features Friday, and recently announced that it will soon offer mobile apps.
