PLEASANTON -- IronPlanet may have scuttled an initial public offering last year, but the online marketplace is still growing and has expanded its Pleasanton headquarters with a new lease.

The online market for used heavy equipment has struck a deal to lease 19,000 square feet in Hacienda Business Park. The company's new head offices are at 3825 Hopyard Road in Pleasanton.

"We are excited to move our headquarters to an updated, larger space," said Doug Feick, an IronPlanet senior vice president.

Pleasanton-based IronPlanet's new offices area roughly 58 percent larger than what the company previously occupied. The company previously was in about 13,000 square feet of space, also in Pleasanton. The lease was arranged through brokers Brian Lagomarsino and Ted Helgans of Colliers International and brokers with Cassidy Turley.

In 2010, IronPlanet filed papers for a $92 million IPO. But in April 2012, the company withdrew the proposed first-time sale of its stock, citing market conditions.

Since IronPlanet pioneered online equipment auctions over a decade ago, the company has sold over $3 billion of used equipment.

With the recent launch of TruckPlanet, an online marketplace for buying and selling used commercial trucks, the company has expanded its offering with a flexible online marketplace that meets the specific needs of the over-the-road commercial truck industry.

"The new office enables our employees to work in a more collaborative environment and allows for potential expansions to our business in the future," Feick said.
