To the citizens of Brentwood

Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Taylor family I wish to thank everyone who participated in what makes America the country of the free -- that is to vote for our elected officials, both national and on a local level.

You have bestowed upon me the responsibility to help lead our city for the next four years. The mayor does not take that lightly. I accept the challenges that will occur, and give you my word that I will do my utmost to keep our city safe and financially strong with proper planning for the future. We are known regionally as an active participant in East County and I intend to keep that trend ongoing. Brentwood is my only special interest. The mayor's office is always open and you may feel free to contact me at any time. May God continue to bless our wonderful city.

Bob Taylor

Mayor of Brentwood

Time to control neighborhoods

Dear Editor:

We recently held our first Neighborhood Watch meeting. It was well-attended and members of the Antioch Police Department staff were in attendance.

Our area has been hit with a series of car thefts, gasoline siphoning, home break-ins, etc. It is high time to take back our neighborhoods and send a strong message to these sick individuals -- we are mad as hell and won't take it any more!

I urge other citizens to follow suit. The city has the resources and you must use them.

Freitas praised for sign removal

Dear Editor:

It was nice to notice that one of the candidates was out taking down campaign signs the day after the election, and it was Mr. Don Freitas. Far too often those signs are left standing, long after the election is over. Hats off to Don Freitas for his civic-mindedness Hope to see him back in the political arena again someday.
