BERKELEY -- Cal's Lindsay Gottlieb has been named one of four finalists for the Naismith women's coach of the year award, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Thursday.

The second-year coach led the Golden Bears to a 28-3 overall record and a Pac-12 Conference co-championship at 17-1. Both records are the best in Cal women's basketball history. The Bears are a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament and will face Fresno State in the first round Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.

The winner will be announced at the Women's Final Four in New Orleans.

The other finalists are Baylor's Kim Mulkey, Notre Dame's Muffet McGraw and Dayton's Jim Jabir.
