The Stanford baseball team capped its regular season with a doubleheader sweep at Utah on Sunday -- 9-7 and 3-2.

The Cardinal (30-23, 16-14 Pac-12) swept the three-game series and will hear its postseason fate when the 64-team field for the NCAA tournament is announced Monday (ESPNU at 9 a.m.).

Zach Hoffpauir hit go-ahead homers in each game, including a three-run inside-the-park shot to break a 5-5 tie in the seventh inning of Game 1. He drilled a 3-0 pitch off the left-field wall. The ball trickled down the warning track, while Hoffpauir sprinted around the bases. In Game 2, he sent a 1-2 offering over the left-field wall in the third inning.

  • Stanford and Cameron Wilson kept their leads at the NCAA men's golf tournament without playing a hole of the third round at Prairie Dunes in Hutchinson, Kansas.

The rainy weather that threw the tournament off track on the first day continued to wreak havoc. The fourth round was canceled, leaving the individual competition and team qualifying at 54 holes.

The bottom 15 teams began their third round Sunday only to be stopped by lightning after seven to nine holes.

Wilson (6 under) and teammate Patrick Rodgers (5 under) will enter Monday's play 1-2 in the individual race. Also, Stanford (12 under) leads Alabama (8 under) for the top seed in the eight-team match-play event that starts Tuesday.

  • Cal's Lynn Chi beat Georgia State's Abigail Tere-Apisah 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (2) at the NCAA women's tennis tournament in Athens, Georgia. Chi will face Virginia's Danielle Collins in Monday's final.
