Metrolink's 13th annual Holiday Toy Express will stop Sunday in the San Fernando Valley area, where it will entertain families and collect gifts to distribute to needy children.
The train, decorated with 50,000 lights, will stop at 5 p.m. at the Simi Valley station, 5050 Los Angeles Ave.; 6 p.m. at the Chatsworth station, 10047 Old Depot Plaza Road; 7 p.m. in Northridge, 8775 Wilbur Ave.; and 8:15 p.m. in Van Nuys, 7724 Van Nuys Blvd.
At each stop, new, unwapped toys will be collected to donate to the Southland firefighters' Spark of Love toy drive.
At the Northridge station, City Councilman Greig Smith will host an open house beginning at 5 p.m. The event will include tours of the new LAPD Devonshire Youth Center, where refresments will be provided.
