The time has come. Sci-fi has arrived. The stars are aligned.
In this age of dire predictions and apocalyptic prophesies from seers and mystics gazing into crystal balls, it's nice to anticipate events that aren't quite so cataclysmic.
In fact, some are downright heavenly.
Our friend, Judy Hevenly, a Los Angeles-based psychic, author and international lecturer featured in "The 100 Top Psychics in America," has compiled a list of predictions for 2010 on everything from Rose Bowl and Super Bowl winners to Mexico discovering oil under the sea.
Although Judy did not climb out on a limb on this one, she predicts San Bernardino's economy will be on the upswing in 2010.
Here are more Hevenly things to look for in 2010:
"Golden Globes could see Jeff Bridges for Best Actor; Sandra Bullock, Best Actress
The Ducks could beat the Buckeyes to win the Rose Bowl game, while the New England Patriots are favored to win Super Bowl 44.
E-book sales to reach $400 million
Hospitalization for Queen Elizabeth, with Prince William ready to step into her role
Construction will begin in Egypt on the Arab world's first nuclear power station
David Cameron will become the new prime minister of Britain in June 2010
Fashion trends for 2010 will be 1940s and '50s with a touch of sci-fi (don't we already have platform heels?)
The ghost
A new animal will be discovered in China - a cross between human and animal (isn't that Kim Jong Il?)
Mexico will discover oil under the sea
A cruise ship taken hostage at sea, but quick action by the coast guard keeps all passengers safe
Cars in 2010 to have built-in blue tooth connections
President Obama's security beefed up from April 2010 to April 2011 and we see amazing new devices used to protect U.S. airports
Google in a couple of years will come up with an amazing feat - when you type into their search engine, it will give you suggestions on how to live your life
New global currency discussed by China
Smart phones to be 50 percent of Europe's market in 2010
Canadian and Australian banks are a safe bet for secondary bank accounts in the world while many U.S. banks are in a stage of recovery
Possibility of appointment of a new pope in Rome, heralding major changes in the Catholic Church."
I'm not really sure what the Hevenly rate of accuracy is here, but last year at this time she did predict "President Barack Obama to receive Nobel Peace Prize."

Have a happy and much more prosperous new year.
