PASADENA - Police arrested 29 people Monday at the Rose Bowl Game, most of them for being drunk in public.
The attendance at the game was estimated at 91,205. Of the arrests, 22 were for being drunk in public, six were for Pasadena Municipal Code violations, and one was for an unspecified misdemeanor, Pasadena police said.
All those arrested were adults, 20 of them male and nine female.
Police had asked Wisconsin Badger and Oregon Ducks fans to watch their language and be civil at the Rose Bowl matchup. People complained about profanity and vulgar behavior after the 2011 Rose Bowl game, Pasadena police Lt. Phlunte Riddle said.
"They were saying `I was with my family and the person behind me was using harsh profanity and I had my children (with me),"' she told City News Service. "We just ask people to be courteous, to recognize that people are there with their families."
