LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles city firefighter arrested last month for allegedly filing bogus workers' compensation claims while participating in mixed martial arts fights pleaded not guilty Tuesday.
Raphael Davis, 35, is charged with four felony counts of insurance fraud. He was arrested April 10 at his Lomita home, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, and released early the next morning on $30,000 bail.
The criminal complaint alleges that the crimes occurred between December 2008 and May 2011.
Investigators said that Davis was participating in mixed martial arts fights as "The Noodle" while filing false claims.
Davis is due back at the downtown Los Angeles courthouse June 27.
