ABC News reported today that, according to a source close to Scott, the director had inoperable brain cancer.

Ed Winter, assistant chief at the coroner's office, said the autopsy is scheduled for today. Looking into whether Scott had cancer will be part of it.

"We'd like to know why a person decides to take their life," Winter said. "Is there some hidden thing we don't know about. Did he, in fact, have cancer and say, 'I'm out of here. I don't want to be in pain. I don't want my family to see me suffer."
