A Fresno County woman who told investigators an intruder fatally shot her husband has been arrested on suspicion of the killing.
Kathryn Ellis, 48, told detectives that she and husband Robert Ellis, 51, were in the bedroom of their Kingsburg home Wednesday night when they heard a noise in another part of the house.
Ellis said she hid in the bathroom while her husband went to investigate, according to a report in the Fresno Bee. She said she then heard gunshots and found her husband dead in the living room.
Fresno County sheriff's investigators arrested the woman on Thursday at a relative's home in Clovis.
The couple's 15-year-old son wasn't home at the time of the shooting.
