ADELANTO -- Sheriff's deputies used shoe tracks to find a man who broke into an Adelanto home Monday.

San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies received a call at 11:35 a.m. regarding a burglary in the 10300 block of Butte Street.

A resident said her home had been burglarized that morning.

Deputies found shoe tracks in the victim's backyard and followed them to a neighboring residence, sheriff's officials said.

At that home, they found Frederick Johnson, 19, as well as property stolen from the victim's home. They also found the shoes the suspect had been wearing at the time of the burglary.

Deputies arrested Johnson on suspicion of burglary.
