APTOS-- California Highway Patrol officers arrested a Felton man on suspicion of several charges after a hit-and-run accident Tuesday.

Officers responded to a traffic collision on southbound Highway 1 near Capitola Avenue around 3:30 p.m. in which a green vehicle rear-ended another car driven by a Wisconsin woman. She was uninjured, but told officers the other driver had fled.

Not long after, CHP officers spotted a 1999 green Subaru Forester near the intersection of Park Avenue and Cabrillo College Drive, officer Sarah Jackson said. The car had front-end damage, steam was coming from the hood, and the driver, Todd Buglione, had apparently run out of gas.

While speaking with Buglione, 38, an officer observed drug paraphernalia in the Subaru. A struggle ensued between Buglione and the officer, Jackson said, and another officer had to deploy his stun gun to subdue Buglione.

Buglione was treated for minor injuries suffered in the struggle at Dominican Hospital, and was then booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of four misdemeanors for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a license suspended for a prior DUI, resisting arrest and hit-and-run without causing injury.
