The Ventura County Star reports ( http://bit.ly/SUpV6v) Andrew Delgado was arraigned and entered a plea on Friday.
A judge declined prosecutors' request to raise Delgado's $30,000 bail. Delgado was ordered to stay 10 feet away from any animal if he posts bail.
He was arrested at his Camarillo home in October and admitted he was responsible for burning the dog. Delgado didn't say why he burned the 3-year-old basset hound named Buddy, but said he was under the influence of drugs when it happened. The dog died of its burns.
Delgado was booked for investigation of arson and animal cruelty.
