KINGSBURG, Calif.—A Fresno County woman is facing trial in the shooting death of her husband.

A judge ruled on Thursday that there was sufficient evidence for 48-year-old Kathryn Ann Ellis to go to trial on a murder charge. Ellis is accused of shooting her husband, 54-year-old Robert Ellis, at their home in Kingsburg in September.

Authorities say the couple had financial problems, and Kathryn Ellis had inquired about upgrading her husband's life insurance policies prior to his death.

According to the Fresno Bee (http://bit.ly/QSPV6T), Ellis has told investigators her husband was shot during a struggle with an intruder.
