LONG BEACH - 11/30/2012 (Photo: Scott Varley, Los Angeles Newspaper Group) Long Beach fire, police and lifeguards responded to a call of a woman walking in waist deep water in the Los Angeles River near Long Beach Blvd Friday morning. She was spotted wandering around the swift moving channel that was rising with rainy weather. After a short time, she came out on her own without lifeguards having to rescue her. The woman, who was known to police on the scene, was transported away.

After a short time, she came out on her own without lifeguards having to rescue her.

As rescue personnel arrived on the scene, the woman was seen wandering in the swift-moving channel.

The woman, who was known to police on the scene, was transported away.
