The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center and Upland Animal Services kick off "Home for the Holidays" with a fundraiser and pet adoption event on Saturday.
The event starts off with breakfast or lunch at Pine Haven Café, located at 1191 E. Foothill Blvd. in Upland, for a fundraiser benefiting both animal centers. Pine Haven Café will donate 18 percent of the proceeds from all transactions from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help homeless pets.
A "Super Pet Adoption" event at Upland Animal Shelter, 275 San Bernardino Road, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dogs, cats, and rabbits are available for adoption along with special adoption fees (Dogs - $50; Cats (4+ months) - $45; and Rabbits - $40).
The event also features Winter Wonderland Pet Pictures from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a $10 donation. All adopters at this event will be entered into a drawing for an iPod Nano.
For those unable to attend, the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center offers special "Home for the Holidays" adoption promotions. Those who adopt a dog, cat, or rabbit from the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center in the month of December will be entered into a drawing for a $100 PetSmart gift card. There are special gifts for featured pets throughout the month.
The shelters are encouraging all to create their own fundraisers to help send pets "Home for the Holidays" by visiting the Firstgiving page at www.firstgiving.com/rcpets.
Proceeds from these events will go back to the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center's Behavior and Enrichment Program.
