Kayla Ashlyn Bonkowski, 19, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on a felony poisoning charge, which carries a possible 15-year sentence.
Bonkowski, who was named in a warrant issued by the Isabella County Prosecutor's Office on Monday, is accused of putting the bleach in her roommate's glass at their Union Township apartment on Nov. 11, according to the criminal complaint and police reports.
Bonkowski's roommate called police, who investigated the incident and submitted a report to Prosecutor Risa Scully's office, according to court documents.
Police said in the criminal complaint that Bonkowski told police "she knew spraying the bleach was a serious thing," according to the criminal complaint. She told police she put bleach in the glass because her roommate was "mean."
After police got to the apartment, Bonkowski's roommate was taken to a local hospital for treatment, state police Sgt. Eric Sumpter said Tuesday.
