LOS ANGELES—A public memorial service for Jenni Rivera will be held Wednesday in Southern California.

City News Service says Rivera's brother will lead a 10 a.m. ceremony at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City.

Her burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Rivera's family asks that donations and a single white rose be given to the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation.

Rivera was born in Long Beach but became a superstar in Mexico, where she sold millions of albums and had her own reality show.

The 43-year-old banda singer and six others died on Dec. 9 in a Learjet crash in northern Mexico.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
