A team of robbers held up a Salinas bank at gunpoint Wednesday morning, and fled in a waiting getaway car, police reported.
Police said two armed men wearing ski masks entered the Wells Fargo Bank, 1903 Natividad Road, shortly after 9;10 a.m. and demanded money, then ran out after a teller handed over cash.
The two got into a car, identified by police as a blue Ford Focus, and were driven away west on Arcadia Street.
The car, which had been reported stolen, was later found abandoned, police said, and police, along with county probation officers, searched the area for the robbers.
A juvenile whom the probation officers had been seeking was chased on foot and caught after he jumped over several fences in different residences, police said, adding that investigators are trying to determine if he had a role in the robbery.
