A man was shot at as he stood in front of his Salinas home Tuesday night, police reported.
Police said the victim saw an older model, light-colored Honda Accord drive slowly up the street and stop in front of his house house in the under-100 block of Oregon Street at 7:45 p.m.
A man got out of a rear passenger door, and the victim, sensing what might happen, took cover, police said, as the gunman opened fire on him.
The bullets missed the man but one went through the front window of the house and lodged in a wall in a room occupied by the man's wife and 8-year-old son, police said.
The shooter got back in the car, which sped off on Oregon toward Sanborn Road, police said, adding that the shooting is being investigated as gang-related.
