Yorba is currently the CEO of The Mexican Museum in San Francisco, a nationally recognized community-based organization that he has been involved with since 1991. Prior to that, he worked for the city of Riverside.
Yorba has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit, governmental and private sectors where he has focused on economic development, quality of life, community engagement, financial stability and sustainability, and regional leadership.
"Jonathan reminds us of the importance of 'giving back to one's community' and is committed to working hard for the needs of all in our region in such areas as education, health services and providing a helping hand. Our two-county region will be well served by Jonathan's presence as our new CEO," said James Cuevas, who heads the foundation board's search committee and assumed the position of board chairman on Jan. 1.
Established in 1941, The Community Foundation provides college scholarships and grants to nonprofit organizations across the two-county area. It serves as a regional convener to address issues regarding their Community Initiatives, which include Arts and Culture, Capacity Building, Environmental, Youth Philanthropy, and Education.
