Daniel Corner, 22, was northbound on Reseda Boulevard near Saticoy Street about 6 p.m. Monday when he lost control of his vehicle and veered across the roadway, smashing into two cars parked on the west side of the street, said Los Angeles Police Officer Jennifer Ward.
Hilary Ann Six, 56, suffered severe leg injuries when she was pinned between her Mini Cooper and another vehicle in the chain-reaction crash, Ward said. Six was transported to a local hospital, where she died about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Corner was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving, and was jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail. Ward said charges against him will be amended in the wake of Six's death.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Ward at 818-644-8114. After-hours calls should be made to 877-LAPD-24-7. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
