LONG BEACH - Police are still searching for a second suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint near the Long Beach Civic Center.

One suspect was arrested after he allegedly pulled a gun on a man in the 500 block of Chestnut Avenue about 2:45 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Police did not release the suspect's name; he was only identified as being 19 years old, Long Beach police spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said.

In their search for the suspects, officers called in a SWAT team and sealed off several blocks between Fourth and Seventh streets, Pratt said. The suspect who was arrested surrendered about an hour later, according to Pratt.

Police also recovered a gun near the same location, officials said.

The suspect who was held was arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, being a felon with a gun, and for two outstanding warrants. He is being held without bail.

The second suspect remains outstanding, Pratt said.

During the incident, a Reverse 9-1-1 call was conducted to alert residents in the area of the situation and to advise them to stay inside their residences.

No one was injured during the incident, according to Pratt.
