Maurice Ainsworth has been found guilty of 39 counts in connection with a 2009 home invasion and his subsequent escape from custody.

Jurors also found the 26-year-old not guilty on two counts and hung on a third.

Ainsworth attacked a Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputy during an MRI procedure in November 2010, and stunned her with her own stun gun. He set off a manhunt during which he stormed into a preschool and held a Russian couple hostage.

At the time of his escape, Ainsworth was awaiting trial on numerous charges stemming from a violent 2009 home invasion in the Boulder Creek area.
