LOS ANGELES - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today by its largest amount since Oct. 7, increasing 1.7 cents to $3.642.
The average price has risen seven times in the past eight days and is 4.2 cents more than one week ago but 11.3 cents less than one month ago and 3.8 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price rose for four consecutive days, was unchanged Tuesday and increased two-tenths of a cent Wednesday and a half-cent on Thursday.
The Orange County average price rose today for the 12th time in 13 days following a 75-day streak of dropping prices, increasing 1.7 cents to $3.625.
The Orange County average price has risen 9 cents over the past 13 days, including 1 cent on Thursday. It is 5.1 cents more than one week ago, but 9.2 cents less than one month ago and 4.6 cents lower than one year ago.
