RICHMOND -- Three people have been hospitalized following a shooting in North Richmond late Friday afternoon, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said.

Around 5:55 p.m., police received reports of multiple people shot at the corner of Fifth Street and Chesley Avenue, just down the street from Sunset Market, in North Richmond.

Deputies responded to the location and found two male victims. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee.

A third shooting victim, a female, was dropped off at Doctors Hospital by an unknown party, Lee said.

The conditions of the shooting victims and a motive are not known at this time, Lee said.

This shooting is currently under investigation and deputies are trying to develop descriptions of any suspects and associated vehicles.
