LOS ANGELES -- The intersection of Hillhurst and Clayton avenues in Los Feliz near Fire Station 35 will be dedicated today as Chuck Hallman Square in honor of the longtime firefighter at the station.

Hallman, 58, worked at the station from 1982 until retiring from the Los Angeles Fire Department in June 2011 as an engineer. He joined the department in 1972.

"This effort was initiated by the brave firefighters of Fire Station 35, who sought to honor one of their most long-standing co-workers," said Councilman Tom LaBonge, whose district includes Los Feliz. "It is an honor to recognize Chuck Hallman."
