SANTA CRUZ - A 26-year-old man was arrested Saturday after he refused to leave a walk-in refrigerator in a staff area of 7-Eleven.

About 1:50 p.m., Jose Alejandro Godoy went in to a walk-in cooler at 7-Eleven at 2429 Mission St. in Santa Cruz, said Santa Cruz Deputy Police Chief Steve Clark.

Godoy was fidgeting with drinks when a clerk confronted him, police said. The clerk and Godoy wrestled. Someone called 911.

Police arrived and arrested Godoy on suspicion of trespassing and two drug-related warrants, police said.

No one was injured.

Godoy of Santa Cruz remained in Santa Cruz County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $20,000 bail, according to jail records.
