Randy Ortis, now 24, was arrested in connection with the shooting that left 22-year-old Kruze Levusi Kuaea dead and two others wounded.
He pleaded not guilty to one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder in November 2011.
Prosecutors say Ortis opened fire on Kuaea and two others in front of the crowded Charlie Jewell's bar after a physical and verbal exchange that erupted shortly before 1:30a.m.
Kuaea was pronounced dead a half-hour later at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The two other victims were seriously wounded, Police Chief Mark Garcia said at a news conference following the shooting.
City video cameras were pointed at the entrance of the bar at Orange and State streets after police dispatchers received an initial call about a fight at Charlie Jewell's. The cameras recorded the shooting, authorities said.
After surveillance footage was released on Nov. 22, 2011, authorities received several tips that led to Ortis' location, and a search warrant was issued.
He was arrested at a home in an unincorporated area of San Bernardino without incident, authorities said.
