WATSONVILLE -- A 15-year-old Watsonville boy on probation for possessing a stolen handgun was arrested recently after police searched his Sunny Hills Drive home and found a handgun and gang indicia, the Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force reported.

Task force investigators saw the unidentified teen walking on South Green Valley Road south of Main Street about 3:15 p.m. Friday and recognized him from an arrest in September, Sgt. Stefan Fish said.

In that arrest, the teen was caught on Bree Lane, off Ohlone Parkway, after he ran from a vehicle and was found with a stolen and loaded gun, Fish said.

Friday, officers searched him pursuant to his probation terms and found gang paraphernalia, a violation of his probation terms, Fish said.

They searched his home and found a loaded revolver and evidence of involvement in a known local gang, he said.

He was booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of several gun charges, gang participation and violating probation, Fish said.

The teen lives on Sunny Hills Drive between Anna Street and Airport Boulevard.
