The San Gabriel Valley Tribune ( http://bit.ly/11LUxiH) says sheriff's investigators found the remains on Saturday in the Angeles National Forest near the foothill community of Sunland.
Other details haven't been released.
The remains were found about quarter-mile away from where hikers on Jan. 8 discovered a 5-foot-long hole.
Homicide detectives and coroner's officials searched the grave site and found what appeared to be blood traces and a plastic bag of animal remains.
Authorities say they may have been used in some sort of ritual.
