CLAREMONT -- The Pomona Valley Amateur Astronomers will hear a talk Friday on the 2012 South Pacific eclipse.

The talk, by Citrus College professor of astronomy Dave Kary, will be at 7:30 p.m. in Beckman Hall, Harvey Mudd College, 1250 Dartmouth Ave. The site is to the rear of Galileo Hall.

Kary will speak on "Voyage to Totality: A Trip to the 2012 Eclipse in the South Pacific."
