An estimated 200 volunteers are expected to help clean up Seccombe Lake Park in San Bernardino during a community event Saturday.

The community clean-up will be from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the park, 160 E. Fifth Street.

Volunteers plan to paint, collect trash and remove graffiti and weeds.

The park has faced decline over the years, and police have said it is the source of various nuisance calls, including reports of loitering, transients, people drunk in public, suspicious vehicles, indecent exposure, petty thefts, vandalism and illegal dumping.

It was also the site of a shooting Jan. 21 that left Eisenhower High School basketball coach Steve Johnson wounded.
