All but one lane is blocked on the eastbound 210 Freeway in Rialto this morning after a tractor trailer hauling crates of Gatorade overturned, spilling bottles onto the roadway.

San Bernardino County firefighters received a call about the crash at Alder Avenue at 4:53 a.m., dispatchers said. The driver lost control on the road, causing the semi truck to tip over. He suffered major injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash blocked all lanes at first, but officers eventually reopened the carpool lane, said California Highway Patrol Officer Marcelo Loerena. At 6:39 a.m., the Sierra Avenue on-ramp to the eastbound 210 was closed.

An exact time when the crash will be cleared hasn't been determined, but it will take at least several hours to upright the semi and clean up the freeway, Loerena said. About 9 a.m., the CHP said a Sig Alert would remain in effect several more hours.
