SAN FRANCISCO -- The co-founders of a South San Francisco construction firm face prison time after pleading guilty to plundering $1.77 million from an employee pension account, prosecutors said.
Kenneth A. Tholin and Enrique Quiles Sr., owners of Geo Grout, Inc. entered their pleas Wednesday to a charge of conspiring to take the money between March 2009 and April 2011, according United States Attorney Melinda Haag. Prosecutors say the men have since repaid $908,400 to the account.
When reach Sunday Quiles declined to comment and referred all questions to attorney Matthew Jacobs. The lawyer couldn't immediately be reached.
Tholin and Quiles face a maximum of five years in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines at their July 31 sentencing.
