EL CAJON, Calif.—Police say a Southern California car chase turned into a foot chase after the driver of a stolen car crashed into another vehicle.

El Cajon police Lt. Mark Coit says Monday night's foot chase ended when the driver was bitten and taken into custody.

Coit tells U-T San Diego ( http://bit.ly/X7STjM) that the driver was bitten and arrested after a sheriff's deputy released his K-9 partner. Coit says the passenger was arrested after a short fight.

He says no one was injured in the car crash.

El Cajon is northeast of San Diego.
