ONTARIO- The City Council will discuss tonight a resolution requesting the consent of the City of Rancho Cucamonga to participate in the formation of the Greater Ontario Tourism Marketing District.

Ontario's district would include all 38 hotels in the city, as well as those in Rancho Cucamonga.

The new district is being requested by business owners and those in the tourism industry, according to the staff report.

The process to form the marketing tourism district will only begin once the city of Rancho Cucamonga agrees, the report states.

If Rancho Cucamonga agrees to form the marketing district, Ontario will oversee the creation and operation of the proposed marketing tourism district.

Ontario City Council meets at 6:30 p.m., Ontario City Hall, 303 E. B Street.
