About 100 people attended a candlelight vigil against gun violence in downtown Palo Alto Friday evening.

Organizing for Action: Silicon Valley sponsored the vigil as part of a national grassroots day of action against gun violence and to rally support for new gun control laws.

"Our society is suffering from this horrible devastation of gun violence. It not only the victims but the whole community and families," said Bonnie Bernstein, with Silicon Valley Community Against Gun Violence.
