Three persons escaped injury following two shootings in their Salinas neighborhoods Sundaynight, police reported.
The first incident occurred at 6:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Hancock Street, police said, when a 28-year-old man who was getting out of his car saw another man wearing a gray hoodie walking toward him.
The man drew a gun and fired several shots at the victim, police said, and he ran to a nearby house, where he called police. Responding officers found two bullet holes in a parked car and several cartridge casings at the scene, police said.
At 8:31 p.m., police said, two men, ages 21 and 22, came under fire in the 1100 block of Eagle Drive as they walked out of a house.
Their assailants got out of a two-tone gray minivan parked nearby, approached and asked the two about their gang affiliation, and then one pulled a gun and fired several shots at them, missing the two victims but hitting a house and a parked car.
