A man and woman who broke into a home in Chino Hills led sheriff's deputies on a car chase to Los Angeles on Tuesday.

San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies arrested Melvin Lane, 30, of Long Beach and Brittani Collins, 25, of Los Angeles on suspicion of burglary and felony evading.

Sheriff's officials said the pair broke into a home in the 2900 block of Olympic View Drive at 12:41 p.m. They fled in a silver Lexus.

San Bernardino and Los Angeles County deputies spotted the car and began chasing the pair through Chino Hills and Chino. Collins, who was driving, crashed into two vehicles early in the chase.

She drove on the westbound 60 Freeway and several other freeways before arriving in Los Angeles. Lane jumped out of the car and ran through an apartment complex, but he was captured.

Collins continued driving, crashing into a bus and another vehicle before she was taken into custody.

Deputies found property stolen from the Chino Hills home in the vehicle.
