The student was airlifted to Valley Medical Center in Santa Clara County Wednesday morning after passersby spotted him at the bottom of the ravine, university spokesman Jim Burns said.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Burns said he'd been informed the male student had died from his injuries. He did not have further details.
The ravine in which the man fell is below the pedestrian bridge by the student health center, Burns said. He did not know how or when the student fell.
Passersby found the man around 9 a.m. and called for help.
Burns said the man's name and age weren't being released Wednesday pending notification of his family. Autopsy results are pending.
