The crash was reported about 2:30 a.m. on the westbound 10 east of Mountain View Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs. A pickup truck crashed into the semi after the initial collision.
Officers issued a Sig Alert and both sides of the freeway were completely closed until about 5 a.m., when two lanes were reopened on the eastbound side.
The driver in the semi truck was taken to a hospital after complaining of pain from the crash.
All eastbound lanes were reopened about 7 a.m. Remaining lanes were cleared and reopened at 9:20 a.m., officers said.
