ONTARIO -- Two alleged gang members, one on probation through Prison Realignment, were arrested late Wednesday for reportedly shooting and killing a man late Tuesday night, Ontario Police Department officials.

James Edward Hall, 24, and Danny Ray Contreras, 21, both of Ontario are currently being held at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga for the slaying of 27-year-old Samuel Solorio, also a known gang member, police officials said.

Officers were called out to the 100 block of W. Park Street shortly around 11:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired in the area, according to authorities. Officers found Solorio lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and upper body, according to reports.

Paramedics transported Solorio to a local hospital where he later died.

Detectives spoke to witnesses and determined Hall and Contreras were allegedly involved in the fatal shooting.

Through an investigation, officers arrested Hall, who was on probation through AB 109, following a traffic stop in the 800 block of E. Holt Boulevard Wednesday evening.

Contreras was arrested early Thursday morning at his brother's home in the 4700 block of Canoga Street in Montclair, police officials said.

Hall was placed on community supervision through Prison Realignment for an assault with a deadly weapon case from 2010, according to San Bernardino court records. He was originally charged with robbery and the assault with a deadly weapon, but the robbery charge was dropped and he pleaded no contest to the remaining charge.
