The California Highway Patrol says a man jumped about 115 feet to his death early Sunday from an overpass on the 57 Freeway, landing on the westbound side of Interstate 10 in Pomona.
Witnesses tell the CHP they saw the man jump about 7 a.m. His 1996 Honda was found on the shoulder with the keys inside.
City News Service says the 32-year-old man died at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of family.
The ensuing investigation by the CHP temporarily shut down the two right lanes of I-10, the Kellogg Drive offramp and transition roads from the 57 Freeway to the westbound 10.
The roads were cleared about three hours later.
