California Highway Patrol Officer John Fransen says a woman in Dodge Charger ran a red light Saturday morning and collided with a packed minivan. She was airlifted to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The Contra Costa Times says ( http://bit.ly/13P2xwZ) the driver of the minivan and his pregnant passenger, as well as four children who were in the back of the minivan, were also taken to nearby hospitals.
Their conditions were not immediately known.
Fransen said investigators were trying to determine if any other factors, such as drugs or alcohol, were involved in the crash.
