The Orange County Register ( http://bit.ly/1am6lhQ) says the county paid Nancy Butano last week to settle her civil rights lawsuit.
Court documents say deputies called to her San Juan Capistrano home in 2010 arrested her boyfriend outside after allegations that he threatened some gardeners with a knife. However, there's no record of charges being filed.
Deputies said they wanted Butano outside because they were afraid the knife was being hidden or destroyed.
Butano spent a day in jail and the county took away her two toddlers for six days. She wasn't charged with a crime.
