Hayward Unified employees are coming up with creative ways to try to make sure students get a nutritious breakfast. A canvas-covered cart, loaded with bright yellow buckets filled with breakfast goodies, is rolled out to the playground during morning recess at four of the district's elementary schools, said Robin Gallagher, director of child nutrition. Any student may grab something to eat.
