Will Lavis passed his Eagle Board of Review on Sept. 23, and is scheduled to become an Eagle Scout upon his Eagle Court of Honor ceremony Nov. 8 at Santa Maria Church in Orinda.

Will, a junior at Miramonte High School, is a member of Orinda's Troop 303, with whom he has served as senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader and patrol leader. Will completed two Eagle projects for the Northern Light School in Oakland this past summer — he planned and built a large storage facility to support the PE and science departments, and a large three-part composting system for the school's garden, which works with all grades at the school for their environmental studies and science programs.

Lavis is the son of Jennifer & Bill Lavis of Orinda.
