PLEASANTON — The Pleasanton school board voted 5-0 Tuesday to deny an application by Global Tides to operate an online charter school. Dublin denied the same application on Nov. 3.
In a report to the board, the district's lawyer said the program is unsound, unlikely to implement the program as set out in the petition and does not include reasonable description on some aspects of the plan.
Global Tides has submitted 91 similar petitions around the state, including one to every district in Alameda County.
In other board news, trustee voted to refinance some of its bonds to save Pleasanton tax payers $265,000 or about. 30 cents per $100,000 of assessed valuation.
